Why Legara

A Calm Space to Prepare

Our approach keeps things straightforward, respectful, and at your own pace.

Strictly Educational

Everything we cover is general information. We do not provide personal legal, financial, or estate-planning advice, and we will always point you to the right professionals when your situation calls for it.

Small, Focused Groups

Sessions are kept small so every participant has the space to ask questions, work through their own materials, and leave with something concrete and useful.

Practical Outputs

You leave each session with a real result — a completed checklist, an organised folder, or a clearer conversation guide. Not just ideas, but something you can keep and use.

Respectful & Unhurried

We recognise these conversations can feel heavy. Our facilitators set a thoughtful, unhurried tone and never push participants toward any particular decision.

Clear Signposting

We maintain a curated list of qualified lawyers, financial advisers, and official bodies in Thailand, so you know exactly who to contact when you are ready to take formal steps.

English-Language Delivery

All workshops and materials are delivered in clear English, making them accessible for expatriate families and internationally connected Thai households living in Bangkok.

Take the First Step

Is Your Family's Paperwork Ready to be Found?

Most families delay this kind of organising not because they don't care, but because they're not sure where to begin. That's exactly what Legara is here for.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

What exactly do Legara workshops cover?

Our sessions focus on general organisation — how to gather and label important documents, how to prepare a clear information folder for family members, and how to hold calm conversations about what matters to you. We do not provide legal, financial, tax, or estate-planning advice of any kind. Where those topics arise, we refer participants to appropriately qualified professionals.

Are these sessions suitable for expatriates in Bangkok?

Yes. Our workshops are delivered entirely in English and are designed with internationally connected families in mind — whether you are an expatriate, a Thai national with overseas connections, or a family that spans multiple countries. We keep the content general and non-jurisdiction-specific, and we signpost participants to appropriate local professionals for formal matters.

What is included in the Document Inventory Toolkit?

The toolkit includes a printed and digital template set, a one-to-one support session where a Legara facilitator helps you work through your documents, a completed personal inventory binder, and a labelling and storage guide. The goal is a single, well-organised record of where your important papers are kept — nothing more, nothing less.

How many people attend each workshop session?

We keep groups small — typically between four and ten participants — so there is plenty of time for questions and individual attention. If you would prefer a private session for your family, please reach out and we can discuss arrangements.

What is the Legacy Conversation Membership?

The membership gives you ongoing access to monthly facilitated conversation sessions, story-keeping guides, and a supportive peer community of people working through similar topics. All conversations remain educational and gentle in tone. Members are regularly reminded that specific personal decisions should involve qualified professionals.

Where are sessions held?

Workshops are held at our Rama IV premises in Pathum Wan, Bangkok. The venue is accessible by BTS Skytrain and by car with parking nearby. Some community sessions are also available online for members who cannot attend in person — please ask us for the current schedule.

Do I need to bring anything to a session?

For the Estate Organising Workshop, we recommend bringing a list of any documents you know you have at home, though this is not required. All materials and stationery are provided. For the Document Inventory Toolkit service, we ask that you bring the documents you would like to catalogue so we can work through them together.
